Everything but a blind overview
“Know those moments when you instinctively take a second peep? You want to look away, but you just keep on staring? Sometimes staring is just irresistible, especially when you’re doing it from a safe distance. As we get smarter, we find clever ways of maintaining that distance. Safely distancing ourselves as mere spectators. A Blind Spot Productions is a film enterprise that actively engages with life. That which is swept under the carpet, we brush out. This we do by stepping into the shoes of others, respectfully and wholeheartedly. Don’t get me wrong. We’re not videographers. Our team consists of a party of three that’s keeping busy with conceptualisation, script writing, directing, filming, editing, sound design and motion graphics. A group that sees the whole production process through, from start to finish.” -A Blind Spot Productions
I want to introduce you to these three guys, because they are my best friends and I want to use this platform to give them free marketing and make them famous, but also because the work that they are doing is in a league of its own.
They have traveled far and wide to understand the context of ‘a blind spot’. Their team of creatives has done more than 100 000km’s worth of documenting, gathering stories and understanding communication as a tool for hope and social innovation. They have spent weeks and months in Africa as well as extensive trips to the Eastern Cape. A cause driven core sets them apart and gives them an edge over the average production company. Their context sensitive methodology is clearly seen through their work, and gives the viewer a sustainable invitation to buy into the communication and technology of worthiness.
They have inspired many through their work, but most importantly, all they have actually done is communicate the inspiring stories around us. Stories that are meant to be communicated, but yet, rarely are?
Everyone has a story to tell.
I want to invite you to take a closer look at what is happening around you…personally or in your community. Take a closer look at all those unheard or voiceless blind spots. Please take a look at what they can do for you!
